STL Build was appointed to carry out specialist external restoration works to an impressive property in St George’s Hill, Weybridge.
The project focused on the architectural stonework at roof and parapet level. Over time, exposed joints and sections of stone detailing had deteriorated through weathering, requiring careful repair to protect the building while maintaining its original appearance.
Working at height and around detailed elevations required a careful, methodical approach, with protection of the existing slate roof coverings and surrounding finishes throughout.
Brief
The client required sensitive repair work to the property’s external stonework, with a focus on restoring weathered joints, coping stones and parapet details without compromising the character of the building.
The finish needed to be clean, consistent and sympathetic to the existing architecture, while also helping protect exposed roof-level detailing from further weathering.
The Result
The completed works restored the property’s roof-level stone detailing while helping protect the building from further weathering.
The repaired coping stones, parapets and architectural features now have a cleaner, more consistent finish, with the repairs carried out in a way that remains sympathetic to the original character of the property.
This was a careful external restoration project where attention to detail, safe access and protection of the existing building fabric were essential.
