About this project
This driveway and groundworks project in Robertsbridge, East Sussex, involved the complete redevelopment of a large external area at a character property. STL Build managed the project from initial clearance and excavation through to drainage, sub-base preparation and the final Cotswold stone finish.
Breif
The existing driveway and raised brick planters needed to be removed to create a cleaner, more practical entrance. The project also required significant improvements to surface-water management, while protecting the property and carefully relocating two established bay trees.
The Result
The completed works have transformed the exterior into a spacious, well-drained driveway that complements the character of the property. New soakaways, linear drainage and a fully prepared sub-base provide a robust long-term solution, finished with Cotswold stone for a smart and natural appearance.
What We Delivered
Demolition and removal of two large raised brick planters
Relocation and replanting of two established bay trees
Installation of two large soakaways and extensive linear drainage
New compacted hardcore sub-base with a Cotswold stone finish
“STL Build demolished two large raised brick planters, carefully relocated two bay trees, and installed two substantial soakaways with long runs of drainage. The driveway was then prepared with hardcore and finished with Cotswold stone. The team were wonderfully polite and punctual, and the final cost was exactly in line with the estimate.”
